What Events Do The PTA Organise:
During the last academic year (2023/24), we hosted a fantastic Autumn Fair, school discos, non-uniform days, PTA Quiz Night, Smarties Challenge. Each year we run a Santa shop for children to buy their families gifts for Xmas, we supply teachers and the classroom with vouchers to buy supplies with along with various other events and activities.
Projects We Fundraise For:
The on-going support and incredibly generous donations received from our school families allows our children to benefit from additional resources that the school budget alone cannot stretch to. These are some of the things we have purchased in the last few years:
- Contributions to Forest School
- Contributions to outdoor classroom
- Christmas Pantomime for all Children
- Christmas Party Boxes
- Playground Play Equipment and Playground Markings (approx. £10,000)
- New Library Resources
- Eco Warrior Resources
- PE Equipment and Lunchtime Games
- Weather Station
- Window Shades for the Hall
- New Laptops
- New Books for Oak Class
- Planting for School Remembrance Garden
We also contribute each year to school trips to keep the costs down for parents and towards to any extra items requested by the school.

ASDA Cashpot for Schools
Earlier this week ASDA launched an amazing initiative which donates 0.5% of each shop to the shopper’s chosen school!! The ASDA Rewards app is already showing that registered schools have already earned a grand total of over £1 million, this is an incredible amount given it only launched on Monday 2 September!
All you need to do is select Silsoe Lower School as your chosen school on the ASDA Rewards app. See here for more information: https://www.asda.com/cashpotforschools. Whilst we appreciate we don’t have an ASDA on our doorsteps, many of you may have your online shops delivered from ASDA, visit occasionally or have friends or family that do their main shop at their local ASDA. Please do share details of this initiative with others that might be able to support our school.
