Silsoe Lower School believe in providing a wealth of enrichment opportunities for our pupils. Please see below for a list of the extra curriculum activities we currently offer:
Creative Sports Coaching
We are delighted that this year we will be working with Creative Sports Coaching, they will be offering two after school clubs each week. Netball will be held on a Tuesday for Year 1 to 4 and Football will be held for Years 1 to 4 on a Wednesday both until 4.30pm. Tennis Club
We currently offer a, on a half term cycle, tennis club for pupils in Year 2, 3 & 4 after school on a Friday. The club is run by a professional and very experienced coach from the Bedfordshire Tennis Lawn Association. Specific details of classes available will be provided to parents at the start of each half term with a maximum of 20 pupils being able to participate.
Inspiring Music
The music hub for Central Bedfordshire offering music lessons during the school day. A range of musical instruments are available such as:
- Piano Lessons
- Violin Lessons
- Guitar Lessons
- Woodwind Lessons
- Brass Lessons

Dance Club
This term Performing Arts Collective are offering a breakfast Dance Club on a Monday morning (8.00am - 8.45am) for all years. Please contact contact@pacollective.co.uk for further information.
Falcon School Gymnastics Club
This term Falcon School of Gymnastics are offering a combined Gymnastics with Cheer club, which will be held on Mondays until 4.30pm. This club is being offered for all year groups. To book your place please click on this link Falcon Gym.
School Choir
Choir club information.
- Silsoe has a well-established and very popular choir which runs on a Tuesday afternoon from 3.30p.m. - 4.30 p.m. There are 30 places available, in total.
- Autumn 1 through to Spring 2 places are allocated to Year 4 pupils only.
- Spring 2 through to Summer 2. places are offered to Year 3 pupils as well as Year 4 pupils.
Choir selection criteria:
- Musical interest
- Enthusiasm, commitment and keenness
- Regular attendance
- Team spirit
- Good behaviour
- Feedback from class teachers who know the children particularly well.
Inclusion and opportunity
Our aim is to provide as many children as possible with the opportunity to belong to the Silsoe choir and to use their voices in charitable, local community, regional and national events. In addition to this, there are also a range of singing opportunities offered within the school which include:
- Singing worship
- Seasonal performances including, Harvest, Christmas and Easter
- Talent Show
We encourage children who are keen singers and who have had a taste of performing, to continue with their talents and consider joining a Saturday morning choir run by Inspiring Music Central Bedfordshire. More details can be found by clicking on the links below:

Rocksteady
Rocksteady have returned this school year, for another year of creating rock bands. When booking your child's place, you are able to select the instrument your child would like to learn and play. These lessons take place throughout the school day on a Monday please contact info@rocksteadymusicschool.com
Silsoe Lower School Football Club
Silsoe Lower School Football Club is an independently run football club by parents and volunteers. All pupils are welcome to join, with each year group having their own team.
